Bus Campaign Road Trip
August 16, 2008
Our first official Saturday bus road trip through House District 50-A had several adventures. Wes provided the driving skills today and provided Tim plenty of opportunity to exit the bus and give out stickers and literature to folks we came across.
We made stops at a community cookout, cruised through several local mall parking lots, visibly but quietly meandered through several Fridley neighborhoods, and finally stopped across the street at Target. At Target our bus battery chose to give up and die on us. I contacted my emergency services center, my wife Nadine, who came to our rescue with jumper cables.
While making our stop replenishing the fuel tank on the bus at Bobby and Steve's Auto World, we meet an enthusiastic group of future voters from Columbia Heights High School. They were spending the day fundraising for equipment at school. Our last stop at David's Auto for battery replacement and an oil change completed the Saturday adventure.
This Saturday we are out on the campaign trail again starting at 10:00 AM. You are invited to join in and support our campaign. As always every campaign has costs including our adventuresome run for the House District 50-A. You can contribute on line today or send a check. All donations are welcome and appreciated, especially after we replace the battery and get an oil change. See you all on the campaign trail.
