Town Hall Meeting at Dick's Place

The Tim Utz for House Campaign, HD 50-A, is proud to announce a Town Hall meeting Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 7:00pm. The event will be held at Dick’s Place at the corner of 7th street and 40th Avenue North East in Columbia Heights, Minnesota.

Well, our first town hall meeting was a success! Tim delivered a wonderful, hard-hitting message that seemed to inspire all who listened. Nick Quade, our campaign manager, introduced Tim to those attending. As Tim was giving his message, a few who were listening gave verbal agreements to what Tim had to say. After Tim's speech, one gentleman had questions about Tim's stance on the smoking ban issue. Tim's response was that he doesn't agree with smoking and knows about all of the negative health effects, but the issue is a matter of Constitutional rule of law restricting what requirements government can place on business owners in their place of business. It should be up to the individual business to decide whether or not smoking should be allowed in their building. Everyone at the town hall meeting agreed with that. After a few more questions, Tim sat down with some other attendees and talked about many other issues. Everyone who attended seemed to agree with Tim's positions and stances. Overall, the event was a success and we look forward to our future Town Hall meetings. We hope to see you all there.
