Mona and I traveled in the campaign bus within the district inside the streets of 40th, Reservoir, 37th and Arthur. In 2.5 hours we had 41 contacts, received commitments for 6 house parties, 6-8 yard signs (including one Democrat), and possibly 2 campaign volunteers. One volunteer is early 20's of Spanish descent with a master in Spanish and political science. Not too shabby for a holiday weekend.
The July 4th weekend campaign results in a non-election year while taking our campaign bus out on five trips in Columbia Heights using our secret "outside the box" strategy.
