Anoka County Government Introduction

On Thursday, June 24, 2010, Tim attended an *Anoka County Commissioner's introduction to county government forum. The event held on the seventh floor conference room of Anoka County government center, provided an opportunity for candidates in the November election to meet several commissioners and department heads. Department presentations were made by Budget, Human Services, Parks, and Transportation.

The most interesting subject of the two hour meeting for Tim was the commissioners' request for the Legislature stop passing more laws, and actually start repealing law. Tim questioned if county government would proportionally reduce county costs and size. There was a mixed response to the question. But we appear to be making progress, as Anoka County recognizes "business as usual" is not possible.
