As we travel the district which contains many non-party voters, we continue seeing the trend in which people who previously voted Democrat are not voting Democrat this election cycle, but instead are on the fence as to whether or not they will vote at all. The up side for our campaign is that this group is looking at voting for Tim Utz, not for party affiliation, because they like the message and HOPE that this message is the answer to the political and governmental issues of the day.
During three hours today we drove 16 miles, made direct contact with 45 voters of which 44.5% are supporting Tim, 44.5% are on the fence as of today, and 11% are voting Democrat. The area covered today in Fridley, W3-P4, is traditionally a strong Democrat vote; in 2008 Democrat vote was 550 and Republican was 341. Using our unscientific voter contact as a guide held today, the Fridley W3-P4 election results would be 396 votes for Tim, 396 no-shows, and 98 votes for Carolyn. Let's hope our unscientific poll is accurate.
Tim met one couple in their early 30s who have always voted Democrat, are disappointed with the Obama Agenda and state politics, and are voting Tim Utz for House and telling all their neighbors and friends to join them.
