Bus Canvas

September 6, 2010

We took the bus out tonight. Peter Lydecker, our photographer accompanied us. We spent three plus hours roaming the district until dark, making a splash (literally) with the voters. We waved at vehicles at 44th and 7th, 39th and Stinson, Silver Lake Blvd. and 39th,  and 53rd and Central at Target in Fridley. Of the hundreds of supporters who passed us as we waved, we had a few "unhappy with Tim" members of our community, including one middle finger salute and three thumbs down. In addition, we personally met over 30 folks ready to vote Tim Utz in November as we canvassed the neighborhoods.

The rains came and we continued our "Get out the Vote" campaign. Having a bus really helps avoid weather related delays in getting out in the district. Peter even ventured out of the bus to take photos (coming soon in another album) of our efforts using a yard sign for protection from the rain. I took a snapshot of Peter for your enjoyment. Voters had some comments to make when seeing us in the rain:  "...what a committed statesman, I am voting for him..." and  "...what a nut case, why is he in the rain..."

With 56 days left and no money we do what we can with the existing tool our campaign has.
