Caucus Night

February 2, 2010

Tim Utz and campaign supporters attended the Minnesota Republican House District 50-A caucus on Tuesday evening, February 2, 2010, at Columbia Heights High School. About 90 neighbors from portions of Fridley, Saint Anthony, and all of Columbia Heights and Hilltop participated in the evening events.

Attendees of each precinct elected a Chair, Deputy Chair and Secretary for their respective precinct. Additionally, delegates were chosen for the BPOU level within the Republican Party, resolutions were proposed for state Republican Party consideration, and a governor's straw pole was conducted.

Attendees gathered at the conclusion of the evening in the auditorium. Several speakers presented a message with regard to participation in the political process. The straw pole resulted in the top four leaders: Tom Emmer 50.57%, Marty Seifert 21.83%, No Preference 16.09%, and David Hann 8.14%.

The next caucus process is the BPOU conventions being held around the state in the next 4-5 weeks. You are invited to observe the process as a guest to the conventions held in your area. For further information about the BPOU conventions in your area, contact the Republican Party of Minnesota.
