Collateral Losses of Glenn Beck's 8/28 Project

August 29, 2010

Yesterday an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 people attended Glenn Beck's 8/28 project in Washington DC. I applaud the efforts of the hundreds of thousands of Americans making a statement to "take back America" in the show of unity. While America is both spiritually and politically sick, our Constitution is being shredded further every two years as voters continue reinstating the
status quo who continue repealing our Constitution for a dictatorial police state.

Money drives the wheels of any message, including the constitutional message of thousands of Americans new to politics in the last two years who have taken on the mantle of seeking public office. Constitutional candidates around the country, similar to their liberal opponents (and perhaps even more so), need donations to inform the general population and voters.

One unfortunate byproduct of the "8/28 project" is the allocation of resources. Suppose the average participant of 8/28 spent $300.00 on lodging, transportation and food, money that could help their local candidates reach voters with a constitutional message in perhaps the most important election in 60 years; based on crowd estimates, well meaning liberty minded Americans invested $90,000,000.00 to $150,000,000.00 for a Saturday afternoon gathering in Washington DC.  This is money that constitutional candidates need to win elections in November.
