Linguistics and Carolyn Laine Boasting
October 3, 2010
During the North Metro Mayors Forum on September 30, 2010, Carolyn espoused that her decades of continuing education and degrees have developed her into the position of Representative. The education speech Carolyn delivered was attempting to establish her superior intelligence over mine. Carolyn has taught school, and education is a foundational platform issue for her
campaign. Carolyn views me as uneducated; therefore, not qualified for public service, leaving the voter with only one choice - - Carolyn Laine.
Until the Mayors Forum I had shelved the subject of literacy, but Carolyn's elitist, arrogant personal attack on my education that night revised the subject. While writing a recent post for my campaign, I included a portion of Carolyn's purpose of government. Out of curiosity, I used the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level test on the text of the post, including Carolyn's portion. I was shocked to discover Carolyn Laine's text had the lowest score of the three quotes. One would expect greater linguistic skills from a legislator who degrades a candidate for public office by referring to education exposure. The following are in order of score: "Minnesota
Constitutional Purpose of Government," "Minnesota Constitution Preamble," and "Carolyn's View of Government."
Constitutional Purpose of Government - Score 20.3 Government is instituted for the security, benefit and protection of the people, in whom all political power is inherent, together with the right to alter, modify or reform government whenever required by the public good.
Minnesota Constitution Preamble - Score 19.4
We, the people of the state of Minnesota, grateful to God for our civil and religious liberty, and desiring to perpetuate its blessings and secure the same to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution.
The text body of this post - Score 13.5
Carolyn's View of Government - Score 8.7
Government is the only entity in our society which has as its very purpose the good of ALL the citizenry. It rightfully is the place of representation of the needs of all. Through the balance of our three branches of government, we constantly fine-tune the working of this purpose. I take very seriously the responsibility of participating in this through the legislative branch. Some call for little to no government; I work for good government.
