Lion's Club Meeting

September 20, 2010

Since I am a member, I attended the monthly meeting of Columbia Heights Lions Club at Murzyn Hall. Tonight we had a special meeting which included four Lions Clubs:  Fridley, Blaine, Spring Lake Park and Columbia Heights. Each local club presented the activities of the summer and some upcoming events. Tasty Pizza of Hilltop, Minnesota, provided lasagna for dinner. Lions Club is always looking for new members, consider joining today.

The Lions Club is just one of many community based organizations which reaches out to raise funds to help the needy of our society.  Unfortunately, they also end up competing against government for citizens' wealth. In fact, hundreds of organizations like Lions Club lose to government confiscation of community wealth as government continually creates employed bureaucracies to
service specific community needs.  And these are services that volunteer organizations like Lions Club have provided for decades at far less cost.
