SACA Garage Sale
September 18, 2010
Nadine and I, along with Grandkids Ben and Emma stopped by the SACA annual garage sale. Nadine found a couple affordable items as the staff were very helpful. However, turning the bus around at the end of the block proved to be a challenge; but we managed.
As we left the building an older woman stopped me, commenting that she would love to meet the guy with the big green bus. I approached and introduced myself to her. She explained that she was not able to vote for me because she lives in Hennepin County. I suggested that she probably knows people in our district who could vote for me, to which she said her daughter does. I
said, "Tell her I am tall, dark and handsome." She laughed and said that will work. I gave her a business card and we said our goodbyes.
SACA is another local community based service organization competing against government for private wealth. Organizations like SACA could and should meet the needs of folks in communities, far from the regulation, competition, and burden of government.
