February 16, 2010 - Legislative Report #9
House Bill Introduction
Proposed addition to current law 1.21(6) in credit because of race, color, creed, religion, disability, national origin, sex, 1.22 sexual orientation, marital status, and status with regard to public assistance; and 1.23(7) in business because of race, national origin, color, sex, sexual orientation, and 1.24 disability.
Today legislators introduced 39 bills: HF Nos. 2990 through 3029. One bill especially caught my attention. HF 2992, introduced by Representative Bobby Joe Champion (DFL), District 58B, would further erode the constitutional guarantees of freedom of association by expanding current law to include credit and business. For decades government at all levels has taken on the arbitrator of association, thus defining how "We the People" must interact or risk being criminalized.
This proposed bill further impedes your liberty packaged in the concept of human rights and freedom from discrimination. "What is Your Liberty Worth" - our 2010 campaign motto and an appropriate question here.
